As more and more users are interested in measuring their samples on the Titan Krios G3i we were pleased to invite the next 4 excellent scientists to be a part of the International Panel of Experts. Now, the panel consists of 9 cryo-EM international, independent, and experienced specialists which are evaluating the proposals. The best proposals will be granted time on the microscope at Synchrotron Solaris.
As transparency is our goal we are happy that our users can understand how the process of evaluating their proposals exactly looks like. 45 proposals have been submitted in the second Call for Proposals at Synchrotron SOLARIS, which is 15 more than in the first call. After initial technical feasibility evaluation by the beamline scientist and safety check of the samples, the proposals were sent out to the experts abroad. Each proposal is evaluated by at least 2 specialists so the grade is based on 2 independent opinions. Based on the quality of research the time on the microscope is accordingly allocated.
We are very proud that we managed to invite 9 accomplished researchers from around Europe who will dedicate their time to evaluate the proposals
